An elderly woman called to cancel her husband's membership after his passing. It's always tough to handle such calls, but I wanted to assist her. We canceled the account and backdated the refund to the day of his passing, and her tears of gratitude moved me. She was deeply appreciative of the refund. By the end of our conversation and learning about U.S. LawShield, she decided to become a member herself, finding comfort in having protection as she navigates life on her own.

While helping a member with a portal access issue, he revealed that he had referred a friend to become a U.S. LawShield member who later tragically committed suicide while intoxicated. I expressed my condolences and shared a similar experience, and the member thanked me for connecting with him, making a meaningful impact on both of us.

A longtime Texas member was considering canceling his membership upon moving to Idaho. He felt disconnected due to the distance from attorneys and fewer local events. I recognized his concerns and took an unconventional step, reaching out to the Independent Program Attorneys who reassured him of continued support. His appreciation for our extra effort led him to renew his membership, highlighting the value of flexibility for cherished long-term members.

A woman called to make a payment on her husband's account. Initially uninterested in the plan, she changed her mind after learning about its benefits. I suggested she become a secondary member on her husband’s account but she declined. However, she inquired about a separate plan, insisting on different payment details to keep it private. We agreed to have her sister assist with the payment on autopay and helped her feel safe about her privacy. This experience made me realize the significant impact we can have on our members' lives.

In the supervisor queue, I took a call from an upset member regarding a missing member card. Despite apologizing, the member wanted a solution, not an apology. This experience taught me that actions speak louder than apologies. A few weeks later, after resolving the issue, the member was much happier, reinforcing the importance of following through on commitments.
